Matt Turner is the Founder and Managing Partner of Ovation, where he leads the company's vision and strategy. A dedicated leader in senior living, Matt has been committed to creating spaces for seniors to thrive since 2009, when he joined MorningStar Senior Living as CFO and Chief Development Officer. Aligned with MorningStar’s founder, Ken Jaeger, Ken (as CEO) and Matt (as Managing Partner) built an integrated, mission-driven company serving both seniors and underprivileged populations worldwide.

In 2011, Matt founded Ovation to fuel growth and to facilitate all real estate and capital functions for MorningStar while continuing to serve as Managing Partner for the MorningStar operating brand until 2025. Under his leadership, MorningStar grew into one of the most respected senior living operators in the U.S., expanding to own (through Ovation) and operate over 40 communities, $3 billion in assets, and more than 3,000 team members. Since its founding, Ovation and its partners have developed 34 senior living communities, acquired 12 communities, and expanded into 13 states.

Prior to Ovation and MorningStar, Matt held roles in private equity, real estate development, and consulting at Andersen, Deloitte, and Black Creek Capital (sold to Ares Management). A CertifiedPublic Accountant (inactive), he earned degrees in Accounting and Management from Samford University and completed graduate studies in accounting at the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business.

Based in Denver, Matt has served on multiple nonprofit boards, including ACE Scholarships (Governing Board), Denver Institute for Faith & Work, and LeadingAge Colorado (Argentum). Recognized for his industry and community impact, he was named one of Denver’s “40 Under 40” by the Denver Business Journal in 2018 and a “Senior Living Leader Under 40” by Argentum. He is an active member of YPO Colorado and a graduate of the Leadership Denver program.
